Overview
My work also includes research and public health writing focused on adolescent sexual health and reproductive health education. I have presented research and health education tools at national conferences, academic settings, and community forums.
Challenge
Academic research findings often remain inaccessible to the broader public due to technical language and limited dissemination outside academic journals.
Bridging this gap requires translating research findings into accessible formats for public audiences, educators, and policymakers.
Approach
I contributed to quantitative and qualitative research on adolescent sexual health and co-authored a peer-reviewed publication examining how information sources influence protective health behaviors.
To expand the reach of these findings, I also translated the research into public-facing articles designed to communicate the key insights to broader audiences.
My Role
- Conducted literature reviews and data analysis.
- Contributed to peer-reviewed research publication.
- Developed public-facing articles translating research findings.
- Presented research at academic and public health conferences.
Outcome
The research contributed to a deeper understanding of how sexual health education influences adolescent health behaviors.
By translating academic findings into accessible articles and presentations, the work helped inform educators, public health professionals, and policymakers.
Skills
- Public health research
- Data interpretation
- Scientific writing
- Conference presentations
